- Statement on the Gang-Rape by Soldiers of U.S. MCAS Iwakuni (2008.03.08) – issued by the Japan-based “Military Bases and Women” Network on the gang-rape of a Japanese woman by soldiers of the Iwakuni US Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Hiroshima City in October 2007. The statement criticised Hiroshima authorities for dropping the case, which could also negatively impact the other cases of rape committed against a junior-high-school girl and a Filipino woman by U.S. soldiers in Okinawa
- AWC statement on sexual violence by US soldiers (2008.02.20) – issued by the Japan-based Asia Wide Campaign Against U.S. and Japanese Aggression and Domination of Asia, condemning the successive cases of sexual violence perpetrated by US soldiers and criticising both the Japanese and US governments for placing the interest of their military alliance over and above pursuing justice for the victims.
